My opnion about: Across the Universe

I don't like musical, like High School Musical and other of the genre, but the movie Across the Universe is great, it's a love story between Jude and Lucy. It's interesting because has a connection among the characters, the musics and the situationsexperienced.

The songs of the Beatles are relaconadas with the situations that arose in the U.S.A in the 60's; the war and the hippie moviment for peace.

I don´t like movies, but across the universe is a filme with a beautiful romantic story and revolution soldiers based on the wonderfuls musics.That make me love this movie because I love musics especially when it sings about "love".

My view about Across the Universe

I'm not fond of musical movies. And Across the Universe didn't change my mind about it, even though it's a great movie. The story about the Vietnam War is very interesting and the hippie way of life was well showed. I didn't like at all Jude and Lucy's affair. It was a little bit nonsense.

Of course the soundtrack is perfect. Beatles's songs was well sang by the actors-singers. My favourite one was Strawberry Fields. It was amazing. As I already said, I don't like musical movies. But a movie with Beatles's songs, at least, must be good. Congratulations to the casting and other people who got involved in this movie. They made a good job for sure!

I loved the movie Across the Universe, the letters of the most popular songs of the world there is a story that has never been told ... Unusual encounters provide the Sadie, JoJo, Prudence and sister Lucy and Max, unique experiences that would not have happened were it not for the initiative of the young longshoreman Jude (Jim Sturgess) to leave Liverpool in search of his father, a former soldier who was in the family United States of America. Across the Universe is a revolutionary rock musical, with love, ideological differences, social and beautiful songs that recreates, gently psychedelic creativity, America turbulent period in the late 60's. Beautiful movie!!!!!

Across the Universe is a musical. It's a film that shows America in of the sexties. At that time there were many batlles in and outside of the USA. Young Jude in from Liverpool and he goes to America in search of his father. He falls in love with Lucy him best friend's sister, an American rich girl. The songs involved us in each moment of the film. I liked this movie so much.

Across the Universe is a 2007 American mucial film directed by Julei Taymor. It was released in the United States on October 12, 2007. It incorporates 33 compositions originally written by members of The Beatles.Cameo appearances are made by Bono, Eddie Izzard, Joe Cocker, Salma Hayek and others. Two members of the supporting cast, Carol Woods and Timothy T. Mitchum, performed as part of a special Beatles tribute at the 50th Grammy Awards.

This film is amazing!!! It tells us a important part of life of many people: The 60's. In that time there were many wars, and one of hers was the Vietnan's war. Was a time of violence, but at the same time there were Peace & Love. I liked it very much, because this film has several musics of the Beatles and showed me more a time that I consider one of the most important times of history of the word and of the music.

The movie is very beautiful and funny because it has a beautiful love story between Jude and Lucy during the Vietnam War showing a social and political unrest in American cities.
The soundtrack is composed of all Beatles songs which in turn depicts the feeling of a season! Worth watching!

Across the Universe is a film that talks about the 60 years through The Beatles' songs. It is a wonderful musical, love music and really LOVED this movie. The story is a great mix of struggles, passions, and of course many songs the band wolrd's most famous "The Beatles". The lyrics of their songs make me dream, dream of truth and seeing the music through the film and played by people like me was just something that will stay in my memory. The soundtrack is perfect, but my favorite song is "ALL MY LOVING" performed in the film by Jim Sturgess (Jude). This song is Paul McCartney and was released on the album "With the Beatles", 1963. My favorite movie is The Vampire Chronicles because I love stories of vampires! But also like many other movies romantic comedies, suspense, drama, adventure and many other types! I love to reading have several books angels and demons and The Da vinci code the Dan Brown but the author is more like American Sidney Sheldon!

My favorite movie is "50 First Dates" because I love romantic comedy and this film makes me see the love in a way more fun! I like gospel music "O amor rompe barreiras" the singer Iveline, and romantic music international "You'll be in my heart" the singer Phil Collins. I love reading, I have several books but my favorite book is "Dom Casmurro" the Machado de Assis, because the story is very interesting.

Well, my favorite kind of music is romantic especially the international and I love this song "I want to know what love is". When this music starts playing in the soap opera I always increase the volume of the TV and I sing out loud, my friends always remind me when they hear this song.

I like reading novels, I like love stories so much.

My favorite movie is "Sweet November". This movie is very beautiful, because it shows attraction between two different people and that love can change a person. It's wonderful, in just one month she changed his life forever.

Hi, everybody!
Well, I'm gonna write about three things I enjoy: movies, books and music.

It may seem crazyness, but I only like two kinds of movies: comedy and drama. I don't have a favourite movie (I never stop to think about it), but I can say that "Who wants to be a millionaire" is fantastic! It talks about an indian boy who earned a lot of money through a quizz show on TV. This fact is not special, but he doesn't know how to write and read. He got the right answers through his personnal experiences. Everyone should watch this movie, it's awesome. The soundtrack is very good! I had just to watch other amazing movie: "O Fabuloso Destino de Amelie Poulain". I recommend it.

My favourite book is "O Código da Vinci" by Dan Brown. It's full of mystery and adventure. I love reading about conspirations. The movie is not as good as the book, I didn't like it. At the moment, I'm reading short stories written by "Oscar Wilde". That's a very nice reading.

I love music. My favourite bands are Beatles, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Keane, Kaiser Chiefs, The Last Shadow Puppets and Lily Allen. If I could, I would listen to their songs all day long. I choose two songs I like to show you:

by William Shakespeare. Heath Ledger, my favorite actor starred in this film.

Music: my favorite song is "Chega de saudade" written by Vinicius de Moraes
(lyrics) and Antonio Carlos Jobim (music) in the mid 50s. This song brings me
good memories and love the lyrics and melody convey.

It' complicated to talk about my favorite movie/book/music.... I like a lot of things!
About books... I love reading, mainly novels and fantasy/fiction. When I was younger my mother hid my Harry Potter's books because I couldn't help reading them every vacation (5 times was enough for her ;P). I also liked Princess' Diary serie and, more recently, Twilight^^. The Kite Runner and Marley & Me will always be in my heart (I cried!!). I also like spiritism's books and I'm addicted to mangás*______*
About musics... I like love songs, rock, pop, black music, dance music, reggae, metal and Japanese music^^... My favorite singers are Avril Lavigne, P!nk, James Blunt, Chris Brown, Ne-yo... and bands are: Nickelback, The Corrs, Linkin Park, Matchbox 20, The Fray, The Beatles (I also love old love songs) and Nightwish (Thanks to Jessica ;D).
About movies... I like romance (A walk to remember, If Only...), drama (Pay it forward, My sisters's keeper...), comedy (Click, School of Rock....), sci-fiction (like A.I.), action (like 300), fantasy (like Lord of the Rings) and animation (like Ice Age). I'm here to write again about my personal life. It's very interesting and I want share with you. OK, my favourite music is What's up , Four non blondes. This music was part of my childhood. Of course, my favourite style of music is rock. Only favourite movie is very hard, because I love many films. I'm in love with seventh art. So, my favourite movies are: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban and Goblet of Fire, Resident Evil, Blade, Sorority Row , movies about vampires or gothics, my favourite gender of movie is horror. My favourite book is almost all of Harry Potter, because I not yet read all of them. Well, I don't have a favorite movie. I like romantic movies and I also like movies based on real facts. I love crying during touching movies. I really cry! It's even embarrassing if I'm in a movie theater, so I prefer watching this kind of movies at home. There I only have my sons teasing me...
My favorite actor is George Clooney, not because of his acting, but because of his good looks! He's awesome!
I like nice songs, especially in English, with very good lyrics. I love dancing and singing.
I read the Bible and I also read books about teaching and methodology.

A little more about me

Hi again
This is the second time I post here and I'm going to talk a little bit more about me and my likes.
At this time of my life my favorite music is called "Stop crying your heart out" of Oasis. I heard it few days ago and just then I paid attention to the lyrics. One new friend of mine played this music last Saturday in the keyboard. It was beautiful. And it was a great day of conversation, laughing and friendship. I loved it. The music says "don't be scared", all is going to be fine, stop crying, stop being sad with the bad things. It doesn't work. I recomend this music to you.

Well my favorite movie up to now I guess it's "The notebook". It's a romantic movie wich tells the story of a young couple. It is a very beautiful movie, I won't tell you the end, but if you like romantic movies I recomend you. The translation to the Portuguese is "Diário de uma paixão".
For reading I love Harry Potter. All of the books. I love fiction, and this is my favorite collection. But recently with the "Twilight fever" I fell in love with the vampire story. And now these are my two favorite collections.

I'm from Brazil, I live in Teresina with my parents and my brother too.
I study English at UFPI ( Universidade Federal do Piauí).

Like that, I study English because I like it and looking for subjects about computers, technology, movies, news, music etc.

Frei Serafim Avenue is one of the most beatiful and important avenues of the City. Almost all the ways of the City take to Frei Serafim.

Avenue, it links the downtown to the East of Teresina.

In the old days, it was a residential avenue. But today, almost there aren't any more families living on the Frei Serafim Av. and big medium companies took up the place.

Getúlio Vargas, the biggest hospital of the City, is on Frei Serafim Av. At Christmas, the avenue gest a special decoration and becomes a big lights spectacle. 20.000 automobiles pass on Frei Serafim everyday. The City council carried out the plantation of 11 thousand trees of different species in all its central area.

The statue of Francisca Trindade

Francisca Trindade´s statue is located in Teresina. She was born in Teresina in Brazil in 1966. She died on July twenty-seventh in 2003 of cerebral aneurysm.

She was a famous politician. She was alderwoman twice in 1992 and 1996. She´s considered the first icon of the political scenery of Piauí.

The statue in her homage is situated in Square of Freedom in Teresina downtown. The statue is made of bronze, made by the artist Clauberto dos Santos. The statue is 1,60m base, body of 1,65m, height of 3,25m and 60cm of thickness.

This is the "Centro Artesanal Mestre Dezinho" in Teresina, us lovely city.

There you can find artesanal things and meals of own town.

A really cool place to met friends and to shopping *-* .

Hello people! this is the statue of Amilcar Cabral in Bissao.
He was born in Bafatá,Guiné Bissau,on 12 September 1924. His family were from Cabo-Verde.
He was a fomous politician and commandant, because He was the founder of the African party for independence of Guiné and Cabo-Verde (PAIGC) in 1956.
On 20 January 1973 He was shol.
Guiné Bissao become independent on 24 september 1973, 8 months after Amilcar Cabral was dead.
His statue is in Osvaldo Vieira airport.

Cabeça de Cuia

This is my favorite statue it calls Cabeça de Cuia ,it is in the district "Poty Velho" here in Teresina-Piauí,it tells a tale about a younf fisherman who after coming home hungry that her mother had prepared only a scatly meal of ox bone,ahh I almost forget the name of the fisherman was Crispin .So Crispin was revolted with the misery in the food and threw the bone in his mother...so his mother trew a curse that crispin would turn into a monster with the head held high and walk along the river Parnaíba.

The curse just would finish when crispin devour 7 Marys virgin ,old women washed clothes by the river Parnaíba say that Cabeça de Cuia came out chasing girls who were named Mary to devour.

Sete Cidades - Teresina(PI):217km, its name is due to geologic formations in curious forms because of the erosions of million of years. These formations give to the people the imagination of those ones who started to explore the place , mainly the likeness with ruins of cities, so that's the reason of the name. This mountain is called Búfalo.

I just remember that sun shone while we were peregrinating and knowing the beauties of nature shaped in form of art!

My name´s Janaira. I´m from Brazil and I live in Teresina. I´m 18 years old and study English at university (UFPI).

I have a big family. I have two sisters and one brother. I like to listen reggae music, pop, blues, MPB. I like to go to the movies, theatre, and to read books and like to travel very much.

In my free time I like listen to music, I stay a little on the computer and on the weekends I like to go with my friends to shopping.

this is teresina capital of PIAUÍ the city i live in.here we have big bildings,brigdes, two rivers.but fortunatelly we don´t have traffic jam,it´s very warm also.its a very peaceful place.

About the statue

Wall Ferraz's statue is situated on Frei Serafim Avenue. He was a famous politician in Piauí.
His Parents were Raimundo Leôncio Nogueira Ferraz and Ana Wall.
He was Mayor for three times.
He's gradueted in Law, History and Geography for the University (UFPI).

He died in Teresina in 1995.

These statues are Pedro Nova and Carlos Drummond Andrade. They are on Rua Goiás in the center of Belo Horizonte- Minas Gerais.
Pedro Nova was a Brazilian physician and writer. He became the greatest memorist of the Brazilian literature. Author of six books which describe a panel of the Brazilian culture of the twentieth century.
Carlos Drummond Andrade was a famous Brazilian writer. He was one of the founders of modernism in Brazil. He is more famous for his beautiful poetry, in wich he addressed various issues, such as: family, the individual, love, home and so on.
