Hi people, may names is Paulo I was born in Teresina, I live with my mother ten blocks from UFPI, I have been studied English since I was child, I am eletronic technitian, I work fixing computer im my house, in my holle time I like to go to the cinema, to play soccer, listen to music and go out with friends and I´m enjoying estuding English II with our friens and my teacher Beatriz.

Hi people!
So, my name is Lucy, I'm nineteen and I study English at UFPI. Professor Beatriz asked me to introduce myself in this blog, so that's what I'm doing now =)

I'm in fourth semester and I really love this course and most of all my teachers. This semester I'm working with Professor Bia as her monitor.

Let me talk a little more about myself: I like reading, listening to music, hanging out, going to the movies and everything a "normal" teenager likes to do... =)

I'm Mário Augusto and I'm twenty-two years old.
I'm from Brazil, I live in Teresina with my parents and my brother too.
I study English at UFPI ( Universidade Federal do Piauí).

Like that, I study English because I like it and looking for subjects about computers, technology, movies, news, music etc.

Frei Serafim Avenue is one of the most beatiful and important avenues of the City. Almost all the ways of the City take to Frei Serafim.

Avenue, it links the downtown to the East of Teresina.

In the old days, it was a residential avenue. But today, almost there aren't any more families living on the Frei Serafim Av. and big medium companies took up the place.

Getúlio Vargas, the biggest hospital of the City, is on Frei Serafim Av. At Christmas, the avenue gest a special decoration and becomes a big lights spectacle. 20.000 automobiles pass on Frei Serafim everyday. The City council carried out the plantation of 11 thousand trees of different species in all its central area.

The statue of Francisca Trindade

Francisca Trindade´s statue is located in Teresina. She was born in Teresina in Brazil in 1966. She died on July twenty-seventh in 2003 of cerebral aneurysm.

She was a famous politician. She was alderwoman twice in 1992 and 1996. She´s considered the first icon of the political scenery of Piauí.

The statue in her homage is situated in Square of Freedom in Teresina downtown. The statue is made of bronze, made by the artist Clauberto dos Santos. The statue is 1,60m base, body of 1,65m, height of 3,25m and 60cm of thickness.

This is the "Centro Artesanal Mestre Dezinho" in Teresina, us lovely city.

There you can find artesanal things and meals of own town.

A really cool place to met friends and to shopping *-* .

Hello people! this is the statue of Amilcar Cabral in Bissao.
He was born in Bafatá,Guiné Bissau,on 12 September 1924. His family were from Cabo-Verde.
He was a fomous politician and commandant, because He was the founder of the African party for independence of Guiné and Cabo-Verde (PAIGC) in 1956.
On 20 January 1973 He was shol.
Guiné Bissao become independent on 24 september 1973, 8 months after Amilcar Cabral was dead.
His statue is in Osvaldo Vieira airport.

Cabeça de Cuia

This is my favorite statue it calls Cabeça de Cuia ,it is in the district "Poty Velho" here in Teresina-Piauí,it tells a tale about a younf fisherman who after coming home hungry that her mother had prepared only a scatly meal of ox bone,ahh I almost forget the name of the fisherman was Crispin .So Crispin was revolted with the misery in the food and threw the bone in his mother...so his mother trew a curse that crispin would turn into a monster with the head held high and walk along the river Parnaíba.

The curse just would finish when crispin devour 7 Marys virgin ,old women washed clothes by the river Parnaíba say that Cabeça de Cuia came out chasing girls who were named Mary to devour.

I hope you enjoyed the estatues,and the history...of course,bye.

Sete Cidades - Teresina(PI):217km, its name is due to geologic formations in curious forms because of the erosions of million of years. These formations give to the people the imagination of those ones who started to explore the place , mainly the likeness with ruins of cities, so that's the reason of the name. This mountain is called Búfalo.

I just remember that sun shone while we were peregrinating and knowing the beauties of nature shaped in form of art!

My name´s Janaira. I´m from Brazil and I live in Teresina. I´m 18 years old and study English at university (UFPI).

I have a big family. I have two sisters and one brother. I like to listen reggae music, pop, blues, MPB. I like to go to the movies, theatre, and to read books and like to travel very much.

In my free time I like listen to music, I stay a little on the computer and on the weekends I like to go with my friends to shopping.

I love my family and my dog, it´s called Wolff.

this is teresina capital of PIAUÍ the city i live in.here we have big bildings,brigdes, two rivers.but fortunatelly we don´t have traffic jam,it´s very warm also.its a very peaceful place.

About the statue

Wall Ferraz's statue is situated on Frei Serafim Avenue. He was a famous politician in Piauí.
His Parents were Raimundo Leôncio Nogueira Ferraz and Ana Wall.
He was Mayor for three times.
He's gradueted in Law, History and Geography for the University (UFPI).

He died in Teresina in 1995.

These statues are Pedro Nova and Carlos Drummond Andrade. They are on Rua Goiás in the center of Belo Horizonte- Minas Gerais.
Pedro Nova was a Brazilian physician and writer. He became the greatest memorist of the Brazilian literature. Author of six books which describe a panel of the Brazilian culture of the twentieth century.
Carlos Drummond Andrade was a famous Brazilian writer. He was one of the founders of modernism in Brazil. He is more famous for his beautiful poetry, in wich he addressed various issues, such as: family, the individual, love, home and so on.
